Hantang Qin<\/a>, an assistant professor of industrial and systems engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, has received a National Science Foundation (NSF) Innovation Corps grant to support his lab\u2019s work developing a portable electrohydrodynamic inkjet printer for use in in-space manufacturing and antigravity 3D printing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PhD student Li Yu is leading the effort, which builds upon Qin\u2019s previous work on printing for in-space production<\/a> of flexible sensors, wearable devices and more. But it also holds potential for other micro- or nano-manufacturing applications and beyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NSF\u2019s Innovation Corps (I-Corps) program focuses on accelerating entrepreneurial, translational projects. Qin\u2019s group worked with UW-Madison\u2019s Technology Entrepreneurship Office<\/a>, which is heading up the university\u2019s participation in the Great Lakes I-Corps Hub, to secure the funding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
