{"id":65451,"date":"2022-03-31T10:36:14","date_gmt":"2022-03-31T15:36:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/engineering.wisc.edu\/?p=65451"},"modified":"2024-01-03T16:43:46","modified_gmt":"2024-01-03T22:43:46","slug":"boutilier-michini-earn-best-paper-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/engineering.wisc.edu\/blog\/boutilier-michini-earn-best-paper-award\/","title":{"rendered":"Boutilier, Michini earn best paper award"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/directory.engr.wisc.edu\/ie\/Faculty\/Boutilier_Justin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Justin Boutilier<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/directory.engr.wisc.edu\/ie\/Faculty\/Michini_Carla\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Carla Michini<\/a>, both assistant professors of <a href=\"https:\/\/engineering.wisc.edu\/departments\/industrial-systems-engineering\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">industrial and systems engineering<\/a> at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, will receive a best paper award at the 19th International Conference on the Integration of Constraint Programming, Artificial Intelligence, and Operations Research (CPAIOR) in June 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Boutilier, Michini and PhD student Zachary Zhou will be honored for their paper \u201cShattering Inequalities for Learning Optimal Decision Trees,\u201d in which they detail a new and more effective mixed-integer programming approach for learning optimal decision trees.
