Admission is competitive and dependent on program capacity. The admissions committee considers applicants&#8217; grades and grade trends, academic rigor, and personal statement. Meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee admission to an engineering degree program.<\/p>\n\n\n    <div class=\"acf-accordion block_47db038a9082512810e77320585bcbd8 position-relative track-accordion my-5\" >\r\n        \r\n            \r\n\r\n            <div class=\"accordion\" id=\"accordion-block_47db038a9082512810e77320585bcbd8\">\r\n                                    <div class=\"accordion-item overflow-hidden\">\r\n                        <h2 class=\"accordion-header\" id=\"accordion-block_47db038a9082512810e77320585bcbd8-heading-1\">\r\n                            <button class=\"accordion-button fs-4  collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-bs-toggle=\"collapse\" data-bs-target=\"#accordion-block_47db038a9082512810e77320585bcbd8-collapse-1\"  aria-expanded=\"false\"  aria-controls=\"accordion-block_47db038a9082512810e77320585bcbd8-collapse-1\">\r\n                                Preparing to apply- what you need to know:                            <\/button>\r\n                        <\/h2>\r\n                        <div id=\"accordion-block_47db038a9082512810e77320585bcbd8-collapse-1\" class=\"accordion-collapse collapse \" aria-labelledby=\"accordion-block_47db038a9082512810e77320585bcbd8-heading-1\" data-bs-parent=\"#accordion-block_47db038a9082512810e77320585bcbd8\">\r\n                            <div class=\"accordion-body\">\r\n                                <ul>\n<li>Students not currently in the College of Engineering may apply a maximum of two times to the College of Engineering.\u00a0Applications for Fall 2020 (submitted at the end of the Spring 2020 semester) will not count as one of the two application attempts.<\/li>\n<li>Students who have earned more than 80 credits at the time of application are not eligible to apply for transfer admission to the College of Engineering. These 80 credits include:\n<ul>\n<li>All credits completed at the time of application, including UW-Madison credits and transferable credits from other colleges and universities.<\/li>\n<li>These 80 credits do not include:\n<ul>\n<li>In-progress credits (at the time of application)<\/li>\n<li>Retroactive foreign language credits<\/li>\n<li>Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), College Level Examination Program (CLEP) credits<\/li>\n<li>GCE Advanced Level (A-Level) credits<\/li>\n<li>UW-Madison calculus credits awarded by examination<\/li>\n<li>Credits from Community College of the Air Force or from Military Service Schools awarded on a Joint Services Transcript<\/li>\n<li>Credits earned in the Spring 2020 semester<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/engineering.wisc.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Xcampus-GCR-October-2024.pdf\"><strong><u>Minimum Admission Requirements for Cross-Campus Students<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0<\/a> outlines the minimum course requirements for admission consideration to a degree program in the College of Engineering (CoE). The First Year Progression Requirements and GPA Benchmarks for Progression posted on the <a href=\"https:\/\/engineering.wisc.edu\/student-services\/undergraduate-student-advising\/progression\/\"><strong><u>progression page<\/u><\/strong><\/a> only apply to current engineering undergraduates.<\/li>\n<li>Cross-campus applicants must carefully select an engineering program they intend to pursue through graduation. Interdepartmental transfer within the College of Engineering is competitive and dependent on multiple factors, including program capacity.<\/li>\n<li>Due to high student demand, several CoE majors have been especially selective and competitive in recent semesters: biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, computer engineering and mechanical engineering.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n                            <\/div>\r\n                        <\/div>\r\n                    <\/div>\r\n                            <\/div>\r\n\r\n                <\/div>\r\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"next-steps\">Next steps<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Students can email <a href=\"mailto:coeadvising@engr.wisc.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">coeadvising@engr.wisc.edu<\/a> with questions and may also seek advising through the <a href=\"https:\/\/ccas.wisc.edu\/get-advising\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Cross-College Advising Service (CCAS)<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The College of Engineering currently has two application periods \u2013 one for fall semester and one for spring semester.
